Laura Fontanals Clop was born in Lleida (Catalonia) in 1987. She starts her studies at the Enric Granados Conservatory of Lleida with Carles Herràiz. In 2007 she starts her Bachelor studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid (RCSMM) with Miguel Trápaga, where she graduated in Bachelor of Music in Performance (2011) and Bachelor of Music in Pedagogy (2012). She continues her studies of Master of Music in Performance at the Franz Liszt College of Music of Weimar, Germany (Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar) with Ricardo Gallén (2013). 2013-2014 studies her second Master of Music in Performance with Chamber Music Profile with Ricardo Gallén and Thomas Müller-Pering.
She moves to Berlin (2014) where she studied ‘DigiMediaL_musik – Strategisches Musikmarketing im Social Web’ at the UdK Berlin.
She also received lessons from Leo Brouwer, David Russell, Joaquín Clerch, Odair Assad, Carles Trepat, Àlex Garrobé, Margarita Escarpa, Armando Marrosu, Marco Smaili, Pablo Márquez, Costas Cotsiolis, Jukka Savijoki and Ignacio Rodes.
She has recently permormed with the JOP Ochestra at the Lleida Concert Hall, at ‘La Seu Vella’ in Lleida and at the ‘Paranimf’ in Cervera. She has performed also solo concerts in different concert halls, e.g. Auditori de Lleida, Ateneu Popular de Ponent (Lleida), CCU (Barcelona), Palau Fernán Núñez (Madrid), Auditori de Tàrrega, Centre Cultural de Santo Domingo de la Calzada (La Rioja), Casa Basca (Madrid), Cambra de Comerç (Lleida). She has also played with choirs and has collaborated with the Toar theater company, Associació Lleidatana per la Síndrome de Down, Agrupació Ilerdenca de Pessebristes. She has played for four years with the guitar orchestra ‘UAM Guitar-Ensemble’ in diferent cities of Spain. In 2011, she played at the National Concert Hall of Madrid (Auditorio Nacional de Madrid) together with the UAM Symphony Orchestra in the world premiere of “Texturas del Silencio” by Flores Chaviano.
2013 presents her project ‘Després de tot’ in Spain. 2014 create she and the cellist Katja Lorenz DUO CORDART. They have played together in several music halls in Germany (Munich, Berlin, Bad Reichenhall, Pronstorf and others).
She has recently present her last project DONES ‘Women’.
As a teacher she has worked in several music schools in Lleida, Madrid and Thüringen, Germany. Currently she is teaching at the School of music Reinickendorf in Berlin, Germany.
